House Joint Resolution No. 324

By Representatives Pitts, Reedy, Johnson

A Resolution recognizing the members of the steering committee exploring the establishment of a Tennessee Hall of Fame.

Whereas, the state of Tennessee, throughout its long and storied history, has been blessed to be the home of many people who have achieved greatness throughout their lives, bringing fame and fortune to themselves and to our state; and

Whereas, Tennessee continues to be fertile land, blessed by many citizens who bring honor and accolades to the Volunteer State; and

Whereas, these sterling business pioneers, civil servants, military heroes, elected officials, cultural figures, education experts, medical leaders, artists, musicians, writers, and scientists deserve a dignified place of recognition in which their names and contributions may be recorded and displayed for all to see; and

Whereas, a group of notable and dedicated Clarksvillians, including Dr. Dewey Browder and Dr. Ellen Kanervo, have formed a steering committee for this express purpose: the establishment of a Tennessee Hall of Fame, which will tout the exploits and accomplishments of these individuals; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we recognize and commend Dr. Browder, Dr. Kanervo, and their fellow steering committee members for their dedication to the establishment of a Tennessee Hall of Fame in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area, extending our best wishes for their success in all future endeavors.
